Malaysia's health ministry will introduce a new law to parliament in July that would ban e-cigarettes and other tobacco products for those born after 2005.

Malaysians who turn 17 this year and 18 next year have no right to legally buy tobacco, e-cigarettes, and neither will their descendants.

Malaysia's health minister said the bill is currently being finalized by the attorney general's office. This group of people given a ban on vaping could ask adults to buy cigarettes for them, a challenge for law enforcement.

The 2022 government early budget announced: plans to tax e-cigarettes and e-liquids, and legalize e-cigarette products currently in regulatory loopholes.
