Regulators banned flavors for e-cigarettes back in 2020, and now public health officials say they want to ban menthol, the last allowed flavor in cigarettes.
The FDA has reportedly submitted a menthol ban to the White House, bringing the United States one step closer to a complete ban on menthol-flavored cigarettes and cigars.
The FDA submitted evidence in the proposal that menthol tobacco products adversely affect consumers' health, but in the final decision, the proposal requires public comment.
The proposed bill is not expected to affect vaping products.
