The research report of "Nicotine and Tobacco Research" shows that when the nicotine content is appropriate, the smoking cessation effect of electronic cigarettes is the best, and the smoking cessation rate can reach 11%.

The experiment divided 520 cigarette smokers into 4 groups based on nicotine content for observation. The results showed that the smoking rate of smokers using electronic cigarettes with nicotine content of 36mg/ml was 11%, and the smoking cessation rate for 8 mg/mL smokers was 5%. The smoking cessation rate of the nicotine replacement group was 3%, and the smoking cessation rate of the nicotine-free e-cigarette users was the lowest, only 1%.

The experiment was supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Center for Tobacco of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Based on these data, it can be known that when the nicotine content of electronic cigarettes is similar to that of cigarettes, the smoking cessation effect of electronic cigarettes is the best.
